Alaska-Anchorage will hit the road to take on Colorado College for a doubleheader in college ice hockey on Friday. CC has only played one game and it was an exhibition matchup against Air Force, with whom they share a hometown, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Tigers dominated, winning 5-1 in what ended up being a rout. It didn’t start that way, though, as the Falcons scored the first goal of the game. But Colorado College didn’t run away in the shots department, only beating Air Force 39-33 there. It was a good exhibition to get ready for Alaska-Anchorage but it still has a lot to prove after an uncharacteristic down year. The Tigers went 9-24-3 in the 2021-22 season. The Tigers lost 2-1 against Air Force in an exhibition to open last season so this was a big improvement.
