No. 9/11 Terriers to Host No. 14/13 UConn for Weekend Series at Agganis

The No. 9/11 Boston University men’s ice hockey team will open Hockey East play this weekend when the Terriers welcome No. 14/13 UConn to Agganis Arena for a weekend series. Puck drop on both Friday and Saturday is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Fans can purchase tickets for Friday’s contest by clicking here, with tickets for Saturday’s game available here. For fans that cannot make it to Agganis, both games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with an audio-only broadcast located here. All games that take place in Hockey East rinks will be shown on ESPN+ this season.

  • BU is back home following a weekend series at then-No. 6 Michigan.
  • The Terriers salvaged a split of the two games with a 3-2 triumph on Sunday.
  • Senior Matt Brown broke a 2-2 tie in the second period with his second goal of the season.
  • That completed a four-point weekend (1g, 3a) for Brown, who leads BU with five points (2g, 3a).
  • Senior Domenick Fensore and junior Cade Webber each scored their first goal of the season, with Webber’s strike his first as a Terrier.
  • Senior Jay O’Brien notched two assists in Sunday’s win while junior Luke Tuch and senior Ethan Phillips each lit the lamp on Friday.
  • Junior Vinny Duplessis stopped all 12 shots he faced in the third period on Sunday as part of a 31-save performance.

  • BU won 58.3% of its faceoffs this past weekend against Michigan, with senior Wilmer Skoog going 23-12 (65.7%) at the dot in his first two games of the season.

  • Sophomore Logan Terness and freshman Arsenii Sergeev have each played three games between the pipes for UConn.
  • Terness is 2-0-1 with a 0.65 goals-against average and a .973 save percentage.
  • He posted a 43-save shutout in the 1-1 tie against Ohio State this past weekend.
  • Sergeev is 3-0-0 with a .940 save percentage and a 1.65 GAA.
