Katie Taylor is open to boxing UFC legend Cris Cyborg, but only after she has her fight with Karen Elizabeth Carabajal.

Undisputed lightweight champion Taylor will defend her titles against Carabajal at the SSE Arena in London on October 29.

Cyborg has a MMA background and recently swapped the cage for the ring.

The Brazilian tallied up 26 wins and just two losses as a MMA fighter, becoming UFC featherweight champion in the process.

The Bray Bomber last fought in April, defeating Amanda Serrano in New York.

However, Taylor knows she can’t keep doing this, although she insists that her love of boxing is as strong as it ever was.

“I obviously know I can’t do this forever; I don’t know if I want to take punches for the rest of my life,” she added.

“But I absolutely love my sport, I love training, I’m not sick of the early mornings and I’m not sick of the cold morning, the running sessions, the sparring sessions, I genuinely do love my sport.”

Could Cris Cyborg compete with Katie Taylor?

Meanwhile, Taylor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently admitted that he needs to see more from Cyborg before he considers her as a potential opponent.

“You’ve got Cris Cyborg,” he said during an appearance on The MMA Hour per talkSPORT.

“There’s a lot of MMA fighters that are trying to make the transition.

“We are always up for discussing that and I think if those guys are not involved in any commercial contracts with anyone, it brings a different challenge.

“But Katie is very, very good and we need to see how Cris Cyborg looks because I want it to credible and I want it to be a real challenge.”
