Women’s hockey ranked 15th in November 7 Division III poll

The Hamilton College Continentals are ranked 15th in the DCU/USCHO.com Division III Women’s Top 15 poll that was released on Monday, Nov. 7.

Hamilton is tied at No. 15 with Aurora University from the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. This week’s poll is the second of the 2022-23 regular season. The Continentals received votes in the first regular season poll and the preseason poll.

Hamilton’s season opener is at NESCAC rival Amherst College on Friday, Nov. 18. The Continentals finished 12-10-0 overall and 8-8 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) last season. Hamilton qualified for the conference championship and advanced to the semifinals with a 1-0 win over Williams College in the quarterfinals.

The Continentals are led by forward Nancy Loh ’23 and defender Abby Kuhns ’23. Both players were voted first team all-NESCAC last season. Loh finished with 25 points on 14 goals and 11 assists, and Kuhns ended up with three goals, 10 assists and 20 blocked shots. Hamilton has 23 returners but all three goaltenders are in their first year. Head Coach Emily McNamara is in her 11th season with the Continentals.
