Matthew Stafford Will Not Retire For Spinal Injury

0

NFL Week 15 – Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford confirmed that he will return for the 2023 season.

Stafford made an appearance on his wife’s podcast, “The Morning After with Kelly Stafford,” where she directly asked whether Matthew was retiring.

The Rams quarterback has not played since Week 11, where he exited to be examined for a concussion. Stafford was later diagnosed with a spinal cord contusion.

According to Rams head coach Sean McVay, Stafford’s injury will not require surgery.

“He’ll be good,” McVay told ESPN. “To my knowledge, there’s nothing like that that’s going to be required or necessary. And it will be great for Matthew to have a healthy offseason and do a lot of the things that I think he’ll feel good about being able to do.”
