Carrying over their dominant display on the ice from 2022 to 2023 is the Minot State men’s hockey team, who once again remain at the top of the latest American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) ranking.

On Wednesday, the first ACHA ranking of 2023 was released with the Beavers earning their fifth consecutive No. 1 ranking, and leaving no room for doubt. To begin 2023, the Beavers have gone a perfect 3-0, with a sweep of Midland University and a 7-0 shutout win over Colorado State on Monday.

The full top ten in the latest ACHA ranking is: 1, Minot State; 2, Adrian College; 3, Liberty University; 4, University of Jamestown; 5, University of Nevada-Las Vegas; 6, Indiana Tech; 7, Ohio University; 8, University of Central Oklahoma; 9, Niagara University; and 10, Illinois State University.

As the Beavers get ready to hit the road to participate in the UCO Showcase in Edmond, Okla. this weekend, they will be tasked with facing a pair of ranked opponents.

First up on Friday, they will take on No. 10 Illinois State University at noon. On Saturday, they will face No. 8 University of Central Oklahoma at 7:45 p.m., a team the Beavers swept the last time they matched up. The Beavers next home game will be on Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host University of Mary for an in-state rivalry battle beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Maysa Arena.
