PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Madie Stockfish took advantage of a Princeton turnover and fired home the game-winning goal with 2:16 remaining in overtime to lift Brown women’s hockey to a 4-3 victory Saturday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink.

Four different Bears (6-14-1, 5-9-0 ECAC) picked up a goal, it was Brown’s highest scoring performance of the season. The Tigers (9-10-1, 5-9-0 ECAC) dropped their fourth-straight game after winning their previous four.

Sophomore Cameron Sikich put Brown on the board with 3:30 left in the first period when she took control of a loose puck and sent it past the goalie to make it a 1-0 advantage.

After a scoreless second, things got busy in the final period. Princeton evened the score just over three minutes into the third. Freshman Jade Iginla then put the Bears back on top at the 14:18 mark when she won a faceoff and took it herself for the 2-1 lead. Classmate Ellie Gauvin then fired home a power-play goal on a long wrist shot from straight on with assists from junior Cassidy Piersiak and freshman India McDadi with 10:59 left in regulation to go up 3-1. Princeton did not go quietly, the Tigers quickly knotted the scored at three in the final minutes to force overtime.

Junior goalie Kaley Doyle made two critical saves in the extra frame before Stockfish buried the game winner and sent the Bears into celebration mode.

Brown begins a home ECAC weekend Friday night against Clarkson on Friday at 6 p.m.
