The Washington Capitals’ first pick (55th overall) in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, defenseman Vincent Iorio, made his NHL debut against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

The 20-year old blueliner, who was recalled yesterday after the NHL Trade Deadline passed and the losses of key defenseman Martin Fehervary and Nick Jensen to day-to-day injuries, took the traditional solo lap prior to the team taking the ice for warmups.

Even before taking the ice, the Capitals welcomed the young Iorio into their legendary pre-game tunnel hype sessions.

Iorio, who has recorded 17 Points in 51 Games Played with the American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, is the fourth defenseman from his draft class to make his debut at the NHL level.
