NFL Offseason – The New England Patriots have signed former Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki to a one-year deal worth up to $9 million, according to a report from ESPN’s Field Yates

The Dolphins drafted Gesicki in the second round of the 2018 draft. He appeared in 81 of 82 possible games over that five year stretch.

Gesicki played the 2022 season on the franchise tag, but saw his smallest role in the offense since his rookie season. Gesicki finished the season with 32 receptions on 52 targets for 362 yards and five touchdowns.

Gesicki finished the 2022 season 24th among tight ends in both DVOA and DYAR. He has one top-ten DYAR season, finishing sixth in 2020.

The Patriots kicked off their offseason by moving tight end Jonnu Smith to the Atlanta Falcons for a seventh-round pick.
